Principal's Welcome

Haere Mai and Welcome to Ss Peter & Paul School, a Catholic primary school where faith, learning, and community are at the heart of all that we do. Guided by our vision, we nurture independent and collaborative learners who are creative, critical, and caring in their thinking, strengthened by their Catholic identity.

Located in the centre of Lower Hutt, our school provides education for girls from Years 1 to 8 and boys from Years 1 to 6. We are proud to offer an inclusive and welcoming environment where every child is known, valued, and supported to belong. Our learning programmes honour the language, culture, and hauora of all students, and we work in close partnership with whānau to support the hopes and aspirations they hold for their children.

Our school is organised into four teaching teams and is supported by a dedicated and highly skilled staff. Our teachers are committed to academic excellence and bring a wide range of talents, expertise, and enthusiasm to their work, creating engaging learning experiences that challenge and inspire students to reach their full potential. They are supported by our caring support staff, a friendly and efficient office team, and a property team who take great pride in maintaining our school environment.

At Ss Peter & Paul, our Catholic Special Character provides a strong foundation for school life. Gospel values are lived each day through our school values of aroha, stewardship, joy, and faith. These values shape the way we learn, serve, and care for one another, and guide us in forming compassionate, confident young people who are prepared to contribute positively to the world.

We value the active involvement of whānau and encourage participation in all aspects of school life. Together, we are committed to providing a high quality Catholic education where excellence in learning, inclusion, and faith formation go hand in hand.

“Let your light shine before others, that they may see your good deeds and glorify your Father in heaven.”
Matthew 5:16
